“The Way of The Shoe” ~ “When you can’t find the other shoe ~ let it go!”

What I recently learned – again – pay attention to how my life is moving… when it is effortless, flowing all is in order….. However when it is challenging, perplexing, feels like going against the flow… let it go.. if not then be grateful for the opportunity to embrace change. Embracing the change of new patterns, letting go of all familiar ways and recalibrating to new…

This came to me in “the way of the shoe. I was perplexed while looking for a sneaker, I had the one in the closet & couldn’t understand why it’s mate was not with it.. This led me to clean out the bedroom closet, and then the hall closet… aha! I finally found it.  A perfect pair to wear as I begin a new regime of “morning walks,” excited about the evening walk I had also planned. A new pattern for me, feels good! So I thought ~ Full of vigor I proceeded to walk with my morning partner, but 30 min into to the walk my heels began to burn, so I let me heels free & continued to walk, hmmm.. next take off a sock…. By the end of the walk –uh-oh… feet are burning.. giant blisters formed on my heels and one on the bottom of the sockless foot… ugh.. no walking tonight!  Needless to say when I got home I trashed those sneakers.

My clean out continued.. drawers, closets, storage places… The principles of Feng Shui show us that our closets, drawers, storage areas are our subconscious… when we begin to get into these spaces, we are beginning to connect to our inner self.. what lies hidden. It is not always easy to change our patterns, patterns we have developed over our lifetime or even a portion of our lives.

Awareness is key to helping us navigate along our journey. “The way of the shoe” reminded me, that when you hang on to something that needs to let go, it impedes your ability to move forward.

So, the next time you can’t find that other shoe….
………………. let it go and buy yourself a new pair to step into!

“Let Your Heart Follow the Rhythm” Thank You to “Playing for Change”!

It is a glorious Day!

Last time I spoke of the feeling of “whoosh!”  How many of you have begun noticing the whoosh?

How awesome is it when you are connected to a feeling, to a whoosh.
you find yourself surrounded with like feeling friends!

The church where the communion took place is Church of The Presentation in Saddle River NJ. Both times I mentioned the whoosh at the service I found I was actually speaking with part of their congregation- friends and new friends totally unrelated but connected!! Similarly -I found myself connected to friends whom were already connected unbeknownst  to me…thru the Unity Church in Teaneck,so when they had a service in Paramus, I joined them,  talk about Whoosh! I was transported!

I am sure that sitting between 2 dear friends and witnessing another in the choir singing with her heart, added to this amazing whoosh..

So all this whoosh has brought me to music once more, the songs that play in my head… as I sing along, sometimes silent, sometimes out loud..my heart is full with one of my very favorites, I will share… by Playing for Change  musicians from around the world

(who have never met each other) collaborating, creating a “whoosh“. I feel the emotion and peace bubbling up!

Here are the beginning lyrics  ..“let your heart follow the rhythm” get yourself some good vibration!  Listen & Enjoy

The Feeling of Whoosh!

When was the last time you noticed the feeling of “whoosh!”?

It may be most obvious when in a large group of people… but it is happening all around us all the time.

Last month I attended a Bruce Springsteen concert at The Prudential Center ~ my first ! The place was packed…. The “floor” (aka the hockey rink for the NJ Devils) was shoulder to shoulder with people standing… awaiting the arrival of the “boss”…  as Bruce and the E Street Band entered.. there was a “whoosh!Talk about “rising chi”! I could feel the energy rise as if I were being lifted like a “whoosh” up into the sky!

I felt it again a few weeks later, at the communion ceremony for Tom’s grandson ~ so a nice Jewish girl finds herself in church, expecting a lot of solemn words , but to my surprise… there was music and singing & everyone celebrating… smiling & bursting with energy – it felt like a “whoosh  right there in the pew.

Then 2 weeks ago – 2 very special children arrived, my niece gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on a Friday evening and Tom’s daughter gave birth to a precious baby boy the following morning…. Now that brings a real “whoosh” …  a simple joy of feeling an abundance of pure love…. Baby-Love… peaceful, sweet, yet oh so powerful

Noticing the “whoosh” is a wonderful experience.. if we pay attention to what is going on around us, smile into the grace of the day, it connects us to this feeling.. lifting us up with joy, “whoosh”  ~ from nature’s beauty of a single flower to the profound love of someone before you…

So, as you are reading this, take a moment, breathe into your brilliance, experience the beauty of the collective consciousness you are a part of creating ~ so simple.. yet so powerful…. Nothing to do but just focus your breath and breathe.. “whoosh”

Messages from Mother Nature – The Purple Iris

It is a glorious Monday – The grass, the plants, the flowers & trees are all so grateful to be hydrated once more.
After a glorious weekend, I welcome the drizzle & the rain again.  I love how the droplets cling to the flowers and leaves. Everything is so lush  ~ it feels so abundant.. I feel so abundant!

I don’t know where they came from, but a few years ago I noticed these gorgeous purple iris in all their glory in my garden. I had not been able to plant anything in this location for many years as the roots from the trees are so close to the surface… but somehow ~ Mother Nature found a way to surprise me, to send me a gift. I realize now what an amazing gift she brought, as whenever I see these lovely purple iris, I stop and marvel at their beauty, I notice how it feels, I take a moment, to be in the moment, to take a breath and just be… ahh that is a precious gift. Thank you Mother Nature for giving us the gift of beauty all around us, so that we will take these moments, to notice as we feel grateful.

This morning I took this photo of my lovely purple iris.. how beautiful she graces my garden, with her delicate droplets clinging to her petals… As I searched for the meaning of the purple iris, it all makes sense to me why I am so drawn to this flower… the 3 leaves representing faith, wisdom and valor and the Greek word “Iris” meaning “Rainbow” – it is said that the Greek goddess Iris, the goddess of the rainbow, a messenger on Mount Olympus, would take messages from ~the eye of Heaven~ to earth by the arc of the rainbow. The word iris also means ~eye of heaven.~ It was the name given to the goddess, this flower, and the center of your eye.   This means that each of us carries a piece of heaven with us.

This is the perfect time of year, to connect in the moments, as we embrace the beauty around us  the messages from Mother Nature are guiding us to notice, to be in the moment, to be grateful.

Sometimes the things we least expect bring our brightest inspiration.

It only takes a moment to take a breath,

It only takes a moment to become inspired.

Synchronicity

Synchronicity

The more we can just be, the more awake we become, the more aware we are of how much we are in alignment.

In alignment all is effortless, we are like water…this feeling, reminds me of this lovely Chinese poem…translated as…

“Love Times Six

                   —— Water Ripples

Lapping softly and constantly

With the wind

Never pausing, never tiring,

Self improving and reflecting”

I keep this poem on my desk, to remind me to be in the flow…How synchronistic that  I received this poem with a gift from my friends in Shanghai when I departed the corporate world to begin my new life, which brings me here to where I am today.

Those words in perfect alignment with my journey.

If we listen to each other, we can see our synchronicity unfolding before us.. we are all connected in such a beautiful way, our thoughts, our ideas,  our journeys… sometimes it is as if we are operating  in parallel lives!

We are all connected.
Each & every one of
us, by just being.

So, take a moment, breathe into your brilliance, embrace the essence of synchronicity, by just being, allow all the beauty to unfold before you, as you embrace in the flow of alignment.

….By Just Being

We  all make a difference in the world Each and every one of us,  makes a difference by just being.

As we each begin to find balance and embrace it, even for just a moment,  all who are around us can experience the same.

As part of the collective, we create the whole.

As we can become peace, joy and balance, we influence all around us to join the experience,

without words, without action,   by just being.

At This Moment

At this moment, stop and notice where you are, take a moment to see how far you have come.

This is not about going back and reliving past experiences, but celebrating where you are now in your journey, enjoying the moments along the way, seeing how far along you are at this moment.

When you feel like it is groundhog day – the same old same old over & over again – Stop, breathe, pause, reflect for a moment where you are, where you have been – where you are going.

The best parts of the journey are during these moments, be sure you take some time, to stop along the way, and just notice, at this moment.

Sometimes the things we least expect bring our brightest inspiration.

It only takes a moment to take a breath,

It only takes a moment to become inspired.

Choices

I am noticing, how I am reminded that I am in control of me & I have the power to make the choices that are right for me. I felt this theme beginning this weekend, Monday night again and Tues afternoon. When the universe presents information for me 3 in a row, I know something is trying to get my attention.
How often do we get caught in our patterns of
how we “have always done it”,
how we perceive “we are supposed to do it”

Whatever “it is.”

We learn from our parents, teachers, friends, how we are expected to behave, and for those of us that want to feel as if we belong, that want to fit in, that want to do”it”right – we hang onto these patterns.

Last week during Thurs Morning Meditation class we discussed how we respond to feelings.
First we need to be Aware.
Once Aware,we can Notice what is going on.
As we Notice, we can then Respond rather than react.

Now we want to choose to do something different, not the way “it” has always been. Oy, that feels uncomfortable, doing something different. But that is ok, I am changing my relationship to how I am experiencing life, how I am relating to how it feels, making a choice how “I” want to experience life. I don’t want to forget to breathe… I need my breaths. Now, I am consciously slowing my pace to be sure I have my moments to breathe.

Sometimes the things we least expect bring our brightest inspiration.

It only takes a moment to take a breath,
It only takes a moment to become inspired.

Looking Through the Lens of Me

My last post, as I wrote about my childhood nature, it really brought me back to that place. I experienced all those feelings again. I shared that writing with my inspiring little sister, she had no memory that I was such a fearful child. Could it be she had a different experience than I did, I am sure that it is so.

I was looking through the lens of “me”, she was looking through the lens of “her”.  It is quite enlightening when we come together to get a glimpse each other’s experience. How often are we really aware of each other’s experience, it is quite easy to get caught up in our own patterns from our own lens, especially in the midst of a moment that we perceive as dramatic. Our logical mind can show us how it is not about us, not to take it personally, but our emotions, anxious to get out & show us how dramatic they can be, based on past performances and patterns arise to the surface – wow that can surely shake us up!
I am enjoying connecting to the child within me, not to be so afraid of the “scary things” in my memories, but to connect with the joys, looking through the lens of me & also learning to look through the lens of you…..

Gratitude & Inspiration

I have been thinking a lot about gratitude and inspiration these past few weeks. What has come to mind are the people in my life as they inspired me from the very beginning. It is as if I am connecting through my roots, my foundation. I can feel my Root Chakra, at the base of my spine, sparkling like a Ruby Jewel. What arises into my awareness is my younger sister, as a child, as I recall her giggles, her spirit, her smile with a twinkle in her eye. She was Fearless! There was no place she would not explore, no person to whom she would not speak. Wow, I was in awe, what could it feel like to be so spontaneous, so happy go-lucky. But, there was another side to her, like thunder-she could explode and throw a quite a jarring tantrum one moment, and then, as quickly as it appeared, (once she got her message across) it would be over.
Now as I recall these expressions, with the knowledge I have gained along my journey- my sister was expressing the energy of “3” Tree! That burst of early morning springtime, a spontaneous, fearless risk-taker, with a side of “Thunder”. I, on the other hand, expressed the Water” child, emotional, shy, & watery, becoming frozen with fear of the things I didn’t understand, or if they were just too “scary” – such as elevators, “big people”, swimming in a pool or ocean. I loved to be near the water, just was too afraid to jump in! Earning the nick-name “Sara Burnheart” or being accused of “Crying Crocodile Tears” only sent me deeper into watery emotions.

I am grateful for both experiences, my sister inspired me to want to experience being care-free spontaneous & fearless. Understanding the watery expressions I had as a child, gives me a wonderful appreciation of my ability to daydream, get lost in my thoughts and connect to my emotions. I also realize it was no wonder I enjoyed my modern dance classes in those early years of 7 & 8 , rolling around the floor as waves in the ocean or twirling around like ribbons in the wind.
I may not have expressed it to my little sister at the time, but I am so grateful that she is my inspiring little sister.

Breathe into your brilliance ~ explore the sensations around your thoughts, your inner expressions & your earliest memories of our gratitude & inspiration. Sometimes the things we least expect bring our brightest inspiration.
It only takes a moment to take a breath,
It only takes a moment to become inspired.
