Summer Feng Shui Fun and Inspiration

happy buddahIs it any coincidence we associate summer with fun? Feng Shui teaches us that the Season of Summer is the essence of the Fire Element. Obviously for students, summer means “schools out!” – so why do “I” still get that giddy fun vacation feeling  when summer rolls around? And I have not been a calendar year student for quite some time.
The Element Fire tells it all. Fire is the light in our hearts, the light in our eyes.

When the lights are bright, all becomes clear, we are motivated, we awaken, we are ready for fun!

We enjoy the summer fun and find ourselves out into the bright evening, enjoying those late night sunsets and fireflies.
Fire ignites our curiosity, passions and our joy.

Fire inspires.

Fire is transformational.

May I share a tip with you?
We do not need to wait until summer to enjoy the essence of this fire element.
We can tap into this essence all year long.

When we find ourselves too serious, find some fire;
Connect with someone who lights up your life, brings you laughter.
Do something silly.
Laughter really is our best medicine. A good belly laugh will warm our body and cleanse our spirit with tears of joy. You know that feeling of release after a good laugh, ahhh…I feel at least ten pounds lighter and ten years younger!

When we are bored, find some fire;
Engaging our curiosity, will lead us to inspiration.
Look to the rainbow of inspiration, in nature, in music, in body and spirit.

Get up and dance your happy spirited soul ~ shine your light with laughter

Become the inspiration you seek in this world.
You are the fire that ignites our light.

Release The Stress – It’s Not Mine! Tools to Become The Driver of Your Destiny by Lois Kramer-Perez CHt.

We all have the ability to change emotional patterns in our life. The first step is changing our relationship to these charges of energy we feel which show up as emotions, triggered by events, others, scents or even sounds. I am sure we have all experienced walking into a room and noticing it feels a bit chilly, as if an argument had just taken place, or sense that something just doesn’t feel right.

Our bodies respond to information based on what it knows, for instance – if we feel the emotion of impatience, our body will recall chemicals flooding throughout our body supporting that feeling. The more we confirm the feeling of impatience – the stronger the support becomes. We then decide that we are impatient. That is our reaction. We do this all day long, unaware it may not even be our experience, but someone else’s. Our reaction has us believe that We Are that feeling, impatience, we then begin to “judge” how we are feeling, which only strengthens theimpatience, creating distraction.
This reaction happens in an instant.

As we change our experience noticing and responding to these feelings, we become aware. We have the ability to use new tools to begin moving from “reacting” to “responding”

Here are a few tips to get you started:

First: Notice the feeling that arises and how your body is responding – do not judge it, become aware that this is just information, it is not who you are, it doesn’t define you, you are not that feeling.
Acknowledge you have felt this feeling before, and you will feel it again in your lifetime. Notice, this is just how your body responds to this particular information. Take 2 deep breaths.

Second: Redirect your thoughts: Replace the thought with something positive: such as:
This feels like frustration, but I am not frustrated, my body is responding to this situation based on its familiar reaction. Now that this is done, I feel relieved, clear and grounded, all of those distractions from this situation are gone. I am focused, I feel positive, I am refreshed, and I am grounded and clear.

Do Not Judge Yourself, Be Gentle With Yourself… As we practice noticing these feelings little by little, we can begin to reduce the intensity of the feeling and shorten the duration of the experience, little by little, breath by breath. We soon find that we can notice these feelings without becoming distracted or overwhelmed.  We enjoy our new relationship with all of our feelings through awareness. Life best enjoyed as we are participating and experiencing.
